Approaching Sioux City, Iowa Under Clearing Skies
by John McCluskey

             Risky with twisters,
miles back,

clouds now hang in harmless
bags of ash and    sorrow

over
I-29.

                 Northbound, I drive,

toward trickles of sky–
Sioux City, Iowa!

                                             and the wet
remains of an ancient freight train,

gleaming in slumber
under    sudden

                           sun shower,

in the hush
                   and grasp of
                                          grace and grass.
