Russian Sage
by Lenora Rain-Lee Good

Russian sage enjoys
full bloom, long spikes,
skirts gray-green leaves
blouses soft
lavender-purple flowers
reach toward the sun.

Honeybees cover the flowers
a moving coat of soft caresses,
a mother carefully
tending her first-born,
the King of Siam
tending his harem.

I wish I knew
where sit the hives.
