Shimmer
by Paulette Demers Turco

Sun rays shimmer in the air.
Time melts as foam-topped waves crash down
on sparkling sand out to the pier.
Sun rays shimmer in the air.
At high tide, castles disappear.
A child’s towel becomes a gown.
Sun rays shimmer in the air.
Time melts as foam-topped waves crash down.

This triolet was previously published as part of my "Four Seasons Triolet"
in my chapbook: In Silence (Finishing Line Press, 2018).
