Grant Wasden
I have painted with acrylics for several years. Outside of a couple of UCLA extension courses (drawing and beginning acrylics) I am self-taught. I do have a couple of professional artist friends who have been generous with their time and shown me various techniques.
Sharmagne Leland-St. John, who is a prolific and proficient watercolorist, introduced me to this art form a few years ago. It has become a favorite medium for me. "Farm on the Rez Road" is a painting based on a photo by Sharmagne.
I was exposed to creating with the Apple pencil and Procreate program at the Apple store. I bought a new iPad and Apple pencil and have started experimenting with this art form.
In my latest artistic endeavor, I have joined a sketcher group called Drawn to Long Beach. It is patterned after the world-wide Urban Sketchers groups. Sketching is challenging but it is a good skill set to develop.
