Lakeside Event

After the photograph, Catamaran on Cedar Lake, by Sara Wadington
As a hazy atmosphere pervaded lakeshores,
the afternoon seemed to close down on itself.
With a calm, boat-less, water surface,
a cloudless, light gray-blue sky,
it felt like all life was taking a quiet break–
or was, perhaps, holding its breath!
Our catamaran was safely pulled up on shore,
it’s tall sail-less mast appeared to be “on alert”,
as we too waited for the predicted storm to arrive,
always anxious during these invisible,
leading-edge periods of possible danger.
