Morning Splendor

A scene from paradise–
an eastern sky splashed
with warm coral hues,
the underbellies of overhead clouds
brushed with soft pinks.
Dark blue trees comprise the horizon
and split this vibrant scene in half,
while in the forefront lake waves
send gentle ripples shoreward, mirroring
the sun’s amazing chromatic entrance.
