A Sand Symphony
by Annie Jenkin
Rising, falling, and swirling
winds call, whipping the sand,
sculpting smooth curves
airbrushing over footprints
it's scars heal, the surface pristine.
In shadows of shade
people seek shelter
from constant stinging blasts,
as it chases around rocks
coarsing spiral pathways
and passages across the beach.
Until it's finale
spinning around and around
sweeping out with a deep curtsey
as the winds blow away.
