December Day
by Wilda Morris

All day I traveled
in a black and white photo.
Greyscale streets,
snow covering the ground,
striping trunks of leafless tress
with limbs lifted
into greyscale sky.

At dusk, the cosmic painter
burnished the background,
brushing lavender and pink
behind the trees.
