Burlesque Queen

Like a burlesque queen,
she struts naked across
a flower-strewn stage.

She flaunts her slender legs
while opening and closing
red and orange plumage.

Watch her lift her
black-edged wings in a
daring spectacle of
vaunted beauty.

Enjoy the pageant,
for hers is a traveling show.
Tomorrow she will
fly a thousand miles.
