Winter Sun by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Blue Chill
by Gay Williford

Shades of blue
backdrop the muted rising sun
while clouds roil on the dark horizon.
A cold, chilly crispness
pervades this farm landscape,
where a recent snowfall covers crops
that crowd the foreground
like white-robed Tibetan priests,
awaiting a sign from God
as they face the sky’s brightness.
The snow-covered road beckons
one to enter this gelid scene
and travel it, if for no other reason
then to explore its mystical setting.
