Greetings!
by Gay Williford

It is December, 1942.
We five siblings are arranged in line
by dad, who, with his love of words,
came up with this proud adjective
to adorn our yearly Christmas cards.
As we kids arrived in this family,
it is unknown whether our names
were assigned with a card in mind–
or were random choices that fit
nicely into this later brainstorm!
Whichever, we five were imbued
with a positive sense of family pride
through this yearly ritual.
