Quiet in Winter
by Andrea Potos

This winter quiet
is singular among quiets,

as if the air is filled
with hidden landscape,

and a snow queen
from the oldest tale

is stilled inside her carriage.
A forest of iridescence surrounds her.

Solitude is the silence
of her visible breath.
