Winter
by Yingcai

An intrepid climber
Along the shuttle-woven path of time
scales the pinnacle that seasons have raised

If we say
Spring resides at the foot of blossoming mountains
Summer reclines on lush, verdant slopes
Autumn perches in a bright golden domain before the summit
Then winter reigns as that towering peak

Here, amidst–
The biting north wind, swirling snow, bone-piercing frost
Yet it holds captivating allure
Here, trees adorned in silver blossoms, crystalline and clear
Here, plums bedecked in snow, vying in fragrant hues
Here, snow lotuses stand in clouds, proudly laughing
Here, icy stars and the cold moon whisper affection

Here, amidst–
The biting north wind, swirling snow, bone-piercing frost
Yet it holds captivating allure
Here lies the harsh cold that tempers spirit and flesh
Here loom challenges that test one's resolve
Here exist goals that spark inspiration
Here awaits anticipation for spring's warm blooms

Winter, the intrepid climber
As it nears the heaven’s threshold
Ice and snow will dissolve
Spring's radiance will reappear
Ushering time into a new epoch
