Year's End
by Paulette Demers Turco

Remember
our hope of snow piled high,
sledding on hills nearby,
dodging towering trees,
to meadows with such ease;
carols we sang,
how church bells rang?

December,
with its frosty air
and festive atmosphere,

the wish for Peace on Earth,
good will toward men, near birth
of a new year,
fills us with cheer.
