encircling joy
by michael escoubas

under azure skies I find you
sitting in
a window at rest blending

in with the sea, a red gardenia
adorns your
ebony hair, your onyx eyes

glisten in sunlight like black pearls,
a seagull circles
white as sea foam kissing the shore

even the cobblestones reflect
sky and sea
encircling you surrounding me

in a warmth of presence measuring
to the hour
keener sounds of enchanting love
