Foreigner
by Tenney W Walsh

We left behind familiar shores
Everything went dark
Pushing out to meet the dawn
When grey and fog
Enshrouded us
Through the mist you held me
Anchoring my heart
Where did we go in
Wilding we found our
Tamest parts
It didn’t come by accident
This rapture in the night
Our love was real and
So it meant that beauty
Could take flight
Now we’re bound for
Parts unknown the waters
Deep and wide
All we can do is breathe
And let our minds imbibe
Sweet memories some
Tears and depths we never
Knew could pull us to these
Places where everything
Feels new
