If Only I Were the Wind
by Bing Hua
translated by Liu Mei

If only I were the wind
I would fly to Spring
To blow the withered grass green
And blow the buds blooming
So that I could enjoy my sound sleep in the floral scent

If only I were the wind
I would fly to the sea
To blow the waves dancing trippingly
And waken up the morning sunglow
So that I could hear the seawater
Sing a cappella with the first rays

If only I were the wind
I would fly and fly
To linger on his shoulders
If only I were the wind
I would blow and blow,
Till my tender love dips into his heart

It’s simply because
He is my Spring
My Grand Sea
My Future Distance
And my Justification
How I wish I were
                     The wind
