Tenderness
by Candace Armstrong
There’s a love I’ve been dreaming of
that chases clouds of doubt, faces fears
keeps me snug in quilted hugs
of peace, where worries release.
It’s more grand than anything I am,
infills the room with moonlight bloom
of softest light, assurance of right,
prevalence of good, life as it should be.
It lets me wake to birdsong strong
in sun-dappled trees, feeling free,
relieve the night from worry’s might,
face the day with strengthened faith.
