Pink Cellophane
by Candace Armstrong

There’s a certain Slant of light
                        Winter Afternoons--
                                                Emily Dickenson, #320 ,

Those last few moments,
waning daylight
caresses magic air.
Beauty graces brittle earth.
No cold rush of frigid gale
can chase the color
from the sudden sky
about to reveal ascending stars
but pausing for pink cellophane
to cover the sun.
