Evening Speaks with the Resonance of Trees
by Jeannie E. Roberts

Beyond the dock
booming sounds transmute the lake
its dissonance renders ice

reflections solidify
and the evening speaks
with the resonance of trees.

Perennials echo across a frozen landscape
stand resilient
where their inner rings resound.

Limbs lift amid currents
bow timbre within a draft
orchestrate the air as if a discourse, descant:

When weather governs be flexible
though remember your purpose
continue to rise.
Seasons of difficulty
become the instruments of growth.

Beyond the dock
booming sounds transmute the lake
its dissonance renders ice

reflections solidify
and the evening speaks with clarity.
Rooted in surefootedness

you step into strength
walk forward as you navigate the shoreline
resonate the resilience of trees.
