Walking Rain

Sullen sky
weeping
mists of rain…

dissipating
before they reach

the hungry,
darkling plain.

Veil of vapour
disappears
before its task is met.

Parched terrain
opens up
its maw
for naught,

continues on in
thirsty drought.
