Snow Fall, by Sharmagne Leland-St. John
Lingering Snow Fall
by Elayne Clift
Clinging to fragile branches,
Like cotton caterpillars,
Waiting for butterfly warmth,
They hold on, inspired, perhaps,
by the small shimmer of light in the sky.
Around them, a chilling landscape
Offers little hope of a sprint to spring.
But they are tenacious, mittened fingers,
Waiting for colorful blooms to revisit,
After braving the long whiteness of snow.
