Red Wonder

I won’t attach the chain of names to you.
I won’t recite your genus, species, habitat.
I simply see you, then you flit, and then I don’t.
I hear a swooping whistle, swoop and stop, whitwhit whitwhit.
You are proud and round and upright.
You are contrast, softness, velvet, neon.
You sport angles, curve and point, superb design.
You are hard, determined, clipped, and soft and overlapping.
Cushion, fluff, and light and, still, encompassing.
You ripple where you should, and shine and shadow to perfection.
What a chubby lovely quiver of excitement.
