Little Toy Soldier
by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Little toy soldier
Standing on the shelf
I remember playing with you
When I was by myself

When Nanny used to scold me
You brought me comfort and joy
Little toy soldier
You were my favorite toy

I used to make you march
Around the playroom floor
Then we'd go outside
And you would march some more

You now are old and tarnished
And we can play no more
Because I fear that I'm too old
Tomorrow I'll be four
