| As a native of Washington state, I have spent my entire life pursuing creative outlets of various kinds: drawing, painting, photography, stagecraft, handcrafts, music. I attended several different institutions of higher learning before and after marriage culminating in a BFA in Painting at the University of Washington in 1987 where I discovered the joys of pastel painting. Having two children created a need to put away the oils and concentrate on pastels. In 2008, (after the children were old enough to know better than to mess with mom's paints) I returned to oil painting and now divide my time between the two mediums, with occasional forays into acrylics and mixed media. I have recently increased my time at plein air painting in oils as well as Urban Sketching. I am a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society, a member of Peninsula Art League and Plein Air Washington. I currently live in Port Orchard WA, across the water from my childhood home. |
