Early Morning Haiku
by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

           1.
awash in colour
an array of nasturtiums
dot the sloping hills

           2.
warm July morning
feeder full of red liquid
hummingbirds circle

           3.
crickets stop chirping
birdsong punctuates the dawn
love songs to the sun

           4.
lone caterpillar
chews his way through my garden
waiting to cocoon
