Lake Como
by Sharmagne Leland-St.John

There are more days behind me than in front of me
I don't know how many summers are left to me
Will I see my grandchildren grow to be teenagers?
How many Christmas' are left to share with them?

How many birthdays?
There are more days behind me than in front of me
Will I ever travel to Lake Como?
It's long been my thwarted dream.

Last year we were ill advised not to go
By a person who went there herself!
There are more days behind me than in front of me
I wish we had not listened...I so wanted to go.

This year I'll throw caution to the wind,
Use airmiles and go anywhere I wish.
Not listen to another pessimistic person, because
There are more days behind me than in front of me.
