Two Hearts; A Love Story
by Jane Lang
I recall a moment in time
before my hands, once slender
searched, determined to find
their mark, turned towards your
face and reached for succor
from the world at large
I recall a moment in my mind
wanting only to surrender
all of me to all of you, a sign
we found the longed-for hour
sweet waft of belle de jour
pears, roses, met and merged
Beginnings, their sweet rhyme
the evening sun turned crimson
day faded with the wind
death took, not stilled or
forgot when these two hearts
converged
