Planet Firth

Rising up in a swirl of mists
ethereal castle-like turrets are revealed–
assumed residences of Firth’s small population.
Pale green plant life drapes high walls
and monopolizing this volatile skyscape
a dark blue structure pierces the scene–
perhaps the support frame for the homes,
a conductor of travel conveyances
or a conduit of their essential water.
Constant movement of twirling clouds
lend a mystical essence to Firth
and scientists are eager to find a way
to land on and study life here on
this newly discovered planet.
