The Virago
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St.John
1 ounce Fernet-Branca
1 ounce Carpano Antica Formula
3/4 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
1/2 ounce ginger syrup
Sugar
Splash of club soda
Crystalised ginger
Juice approximately 8-ounces of peeled ginger.
Combine equal parts sugar and ginger. Shake until
the sugar is dissolved. This can be stored in the
refrigerator for up to a week.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker, add ice and
shake for 10 seconds.
Strain into a tall glass over ice.
Top with soda water and add a garnish of crystallized ginger.
