Daydream Traveler
by Candace Turner

I glide over treetops,
a roller coaster of green hills and valleys.
Chitter-chatter with robins, bluebirds,
even the misunderstood crow.

Spread my wings and fly to the brightest star.
Have a serious conversation with the man in the moon.
Shed  broken hearted tears
on Venus’ lap.

Speak to butterfly souls.
Promise to deliver messages
to those who wait and wonder.

If only
            If only
I could roam the universe
just a little longer.
