Springtime Waltz
by MFrostDelaney

Forsythia reach out their butter blooms,
begin their dance with spring, the sunshine waltz
that blesses new green grass and dew-steeped flowers.

It is as if the yard has special rooms
with doors for whisps of air, a stream that vaults
the trees, awakening their bud-filled towers.

The dance continues towards the lilac bush
where tiny purple nodes await their cue
above the lily of the valley fronds.

The melody gives all a gentle push
to life again beneath the sun-drenched blue,
an azure softening earth, with which it bonds.

Crescendos peak with tulips, daffodils,
and banish threats from snow-dance winter chills.
