from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John 2 cups walnut halves non-stick spray 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup 1/2 teaspoon butter 1/8 teaspoon sea salt Preheat oven to 350F. Coat a large baking sheet with non-stick spray and set aside. Put the maple syrup, butter and salt in a small skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the walnut halves to the maple mixture and stir, working quickly, to coat the nuts on all sides. Transfer walnuts to the baking sheet, drizzling any remaining maple syrup mixture from the pan over top. Spread out in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes. Stir them at least once halfway through baking, making sure to separate the nuts from one another. Remove from oven and stir again. Allow to cool on the sheet for 3-4 minutes then spread onto a plate to cool completely. The walnuts will become crispy as they cool. Return to:
