Cherry Tree Love Song
by Phibby Venable

The cherry fell a distance from the tree.
The cherry died, so then, why not the seed?
But from the death of flesh, a seed still grew.
Is this a cherry soul, could it be true,
that everything that lives can never die?
Is this a random plane that we pass through?
Is it some old melodious endless song,
entities renewing on and on?
If that is true I wish to live again,
stranded in the middle of your land.
I wish for you to find me vulnerable
with no idea of anything at all,
I want our love to start from something small,
so that it grows by what we know as true,
and not by what the world wants us to do.
I want to have no theories and no plans,
if once again, I chance to take your hand.
I want to gentle soft against your chest
and see the world for what we want to do
and place no obligations before you.
I want no tinted glasses on my face,
to make me think the world a better place.
I only wish to know what is the truth,
and never whitewash what I think is cruel.
Then we might both be open to insight,
and know mortality is but a game
where love is all the goal that we pursue
and wisdom a big trophy that we win,
with knowledge that our souls will never end.
