Grilled Cabbage Wrapped in Bacon
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John

1 medium head of green cabbage
20 slices of thick-cut smoked bacon
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Slice cabbage in half. Leave the core in. Slice each
half into 5 evenly sized wedges.

Wrap each cabbage wedge tightly with 2 slices of bacon.
Secure with toothpicks.    Sprinkle salt and pepper onto
both sides of each wedge.

Preheat the grill to 400 degrees. Place the cabbage wedges
on the grill.  Close lid, and reduce heat to 300 degrees.

Check cabbage every few minutes, turning frequently to
prevent burning.

Cooking time will vary depending upon what type of grill
you have.

It is important to not allow the grill to get too hot.

Remember to turn frequently. Cook until the bacon is
browned.

Remove from the grill and serve hot.
