Katharine Krieg

Katharine Krieg (b.1970) – is a professional artist creating works of marine and rural landscape and narrative still life for over 30 years. Her works are done primarily in oil paint but she is also accomplished in the mediums of watercolor and charcoal and has been recognized all three mediums. Inspired by her surroundings, she feels her paintings are her answers to what she sees. A quiet sense of Introspection and the passing of Time are themes that recur in her works.

She earned a Bachelor of Art Education and studied further at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Chester Springs Studio and private instruction with Carlo Russo.

Katharine paints and maintains a home studio in Montgomery County, PA. She held a summer studio on Monhegan Island, ME for over 10 years. She travels frequently, through summer to winter, to paint the New England mountains and coastline. She is honored to have presented solo shows in galleries and to have been accepted into national as well as regional open juried shows and invitational shows such as Allied Artist of America International Juried Exhibition, Hudson Valley Art Association National Exhibition, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibition and Rockport Art Association & Museum National Juried Exhibition. She teaches both private lessons and workshops in the studio and plein air. Her list of publications and include books and national magazines. Her work can be found in collections throughout the United States and beyond
