Blowing in the Wind
by Karen O’Leary

how wild was the wind…
breeze blowing my hair
zephyr rippling leaves
gentle drift carries dreams

allowing eagles to soar
how wild was the wind
perfect for kite flying
joy in unbridled freedom

riding with the top down
gust takes our paper away
how wild was the wind
hang gliding–one flies

microburst peels back our roof
tornado levels north of main
grade five hurricane–death tolls
how wild was the wind
