Six Haiku
by Jonathan Palevsky

on a balcony
with lemon trees in blossom
man writes winter poems.

come and talk to me
the night cold, my heart heavy
dawn is far away

first day of autumn
summer sheds its final tears
on the dying corn

early morning mist
the moon brighter than the sun
crossing lake Tahoe

6 or 7 ducks
the paddle boat lies empty
a perfect sunrise

pine trees and redwoods
lake the depth of Issa's poems
lapis blue water
