Orange Barley Water
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John

2 teaspoons pearl barley
4-6 lumps of sugar
1 orange, juiced
2 pints boiling water

Wash the barley, add sugar, orange juice and water,
and let stand on the back of the stove three hours.
Strain and cool.
