Joseph’s Coat Rose–Triolets for Mom
by Melanie Claire Blinn Eulberg

The rose you nourish bloomed today,
Unfurling golden in the morn.
Enshrouding loss with its bouquet…
The rose you nourish bloomed today.
I kneel here and my tears give way
On this, the day that you were born.
The rose you nourish bloomed today,
Unfurling golden in the morn.

The rose you nourish bloomed today,
A gift of earthen mother-love.
This afternoon pink petals sway…
The rose you nourish bloomed today.
I watch the dance of color play
To anthems of the mourning dove.
The rose you nourish bloomed today,
A gift of earthen mother-love.

The rose you nourish blooms today;
From barren night, rekindled hue.
Two springtimes since you went away…
The rose you nourish blooms today.
Your essence lives in this array
Of changing colors glazed with dew.
The rose you nourish blooms today;
From barren night, rekindled hue.
