I Remember Mama
by Candace Turner

At 96 your beauty camouflaged
Skin wrinkles
Gravity does its damage
But your eyes …
Your eyes still held
an inner beauty that was
always yours

When life goes full circle
Caregiver roles reverse
A daughter takes care of her mother

Was I all that I could be?
Because I know
you gave your all to me
