Basil Tea
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John

1 teaspoon dried basil per cup or mug
water
honey

In a kettle bring water to a boil.
Place one teaspoon dried basil
into a special brewing spoon or
tea ball and place in mug. Pour
the hot water over the basil and
allow to steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add a drop or two of honey and
enjoy this aromatic tea.

This tea is also a good tea for detoxing.
With flu weather coming up keep plenty
of basil on hand. You can generally buy
it in bulk at the health food store or at
CostCo for much less than on the spice
rack at the local supermarket.

In the spring you can also use fresh basil.

If you suffer from pollen allergies, a
teaspoon of local honey each morning
should alleviate your symptoms. Bees
are the only insects to make food and
medicine for man! Buy the honey from
a local farmer's market which sells honey
made within a 50-mile radius of your home
