The Poet Lives Near Water
by Janell Moon

may the tight-lipped faucet
open to your thirst

may you love rivers
be satiated by ponds

be entranced by long-beaked
egrets' tiptoeing through
daylight's marshes

while bedrock lilies
blaze with dream sparklers

before the tide erases
the sandpipers' slippers

a bay's overflowing
under the night moon

lathering waves of a harvesting sea
