Summer Sun / Fall Kitchen
…after the painting by Guilda Dimi
by Lenora Rain-Lee Good

Last roses of summer
bright suns of yellow
hints of joyous pink
now in my garden
now in my kitchen
now in my gray-blue bowl.

When these fragrant flowers
are spent, I’ll bake in this bowl
melt suns of butter
on warm slices of bread
until spring sun again
fills my sky, fills my garden.
