Woodstock ~ Vermont, by Chandler Anderson

Festive Fall
by Gay Williford

The whole neighborhood
is costumed in October’s wardrobe.
A white-planked fence boasts small orange
pumpkins atop each intermittent post–
a line of watchful sentries on duty!
Gabled homes display windows
under tower-like structures–a light
within luring a trick-or-treat visit.
Dark pines contrast with
red and orange maples
while the sidewalk, spattered
with colorful fallen leaves,
beckons a stroll down this street
where autumn’s attire and spirit reside.
