Late Autumn on Lake Huron
by Michael Escoubas

There is a kind of life-healing here . . .
these blues of sky and water
mingling with the maple
shorn of leaves, the pine
wearing its robe of green.

A tint of blue on high,
pure and clean in the bright sky
only yesterday pouring rain.
Today clear and majestic,
bordered by crimson leaves.

She lingers . . . for a moment
in the bounty of a place
where she lives in peace
ribboned in bows of crimson and blue.
