Uneasy the winter,
by Karla Linn Merrifield

doubting her identity,
her costume changed.
She’s barely clad in cold
& never in snow pearls, hovering
between fall & spring moods
& she won’t even rain.
Anxious the winter,
lacking confidence, her expression
altered by a mask of clouds.
She hides behind the kind, insipid weather
& she won’t even rain.
No icy weapons retard a tread.
She weakens, tired,
unable to inspire
& she won’t even rain.
