She Wore a Gown of Shadows
by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

She wore a gown of shadows
With dew drops in her hair
A crescent moon tiara
Stars could nestle there

And twinkle just like diamonds
Reflected in her eyes
The whistling wind, a ghost song
Laced within her sighs

If you heard her laughing
It chilled you to the bone
It wasn't quite a tinkle
Nor was it a dulcet tone

More like breaking glass i'd say
From her pale and glossy lips
Or like a raging storm
That drowned a thousand ships

Her feet did nae touch the ground
She floated on the air
She wore a gown of shadows
With dew drops in her hair
