An October Acrostic

Out beyond the crimson burst of sumac,
Chokeberry performs in fiery red,
Turns heads, an autumnal showstopper.
Oak’s russet restraint extends subtlety,
Balance, beside sugar maple’s blaze.
Elm’s leaves rustle, stir like tongues of gold.
River birch, you’re a vision in yellow.
