Fall-en
by Melanie Claire Blinn Eulberg

Sipping bitter tea
while wind whirls
and the willow tree
whispers canary
yellow memories
she gazes
beyond bent
stalks of flowers
through a garden
empty
as his
promises
and cracks open the
window just
enough to admit
birdsong.
